Full Name: Anthony "the Viridian" Rowanoak
Nickname: Vir
Classification: Kitsune
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Appearance: Standing at 5'8" and weighing in at 169lbs., Vir is of average size and weight, if a little more wirey and muscular.
Power List: Fox Fire, Curse of the Black Fox, Shapeshift
Detailed Power:
Fox Fire - An ability kitsune are born with that enables them to conjure a minor illusion (optical only) for a short period of time.
Curse of the Black Fox - Vir summons a dark mist that covers a small area (maximum diameter of 20 ft); any sentient being within this area suddenly finds themselves cursed with bad luck, and good fortune they had now belonging to Vir. For the next hour or so the victim is clumsy, butterfingered, and can't seem to do anything right. Meanwhile, Vir seems to enter a lucky streak; Winning card hands, narrowly (and stylishly) avoiding danger, etc. The amount of luck he gains depends on how many people are caught in the mist.
Shapeshift - Vir can transform into an above-average sized red fox, and back again, at will.
Vir's fox form
Alignment: Unaligned
Weapons: A simple dagger and a trio of throwing knives.
Personality: Effervescent. The best word anyone could ever come up with to describe Anthony Rowanoak. The kitsune is lively, bright, yappy, easily amused, and never seems to be still. And being raised by the adventurous halflings only seemed to intensify his natural curiosity; this childhood also nurtured a larcenous streak a mile long and a propensity for mischief even his foster halfling parents had difficulties curbing at times. Trouble follows Anthony like a lovesick puppy.
Notorious for his extremely high confidence to anyone that is familiar with him, he almost seems to be fueled by it, along with his perpetual optimism. Doesn't look before he leaps, or at least doesn't look like he does. Vir is incredibly strong-willed, but also childish. For example, if losing a fight, he tends to taunt or laugh even when having his face pummeled, pushing the limit, absolutely certain he can turn it around no matter how down and out he is. Of course, this is also one of his greatest strengths.
He's a good sport besides that, but being such a firm believer in personal freedom does put him at odds with authority on a regular basis. After all, he only steals from individuals who have too much already, or are just begging to be robbed. Whether this is just in his nature or a side effect from being raised by halflings is up for debate.
Furthermore, shame and embarrassment are foreign concepts to Vir. He'd walk the streets naked without a care if he could get away with it.
Skills:
Vir has very nimble fingers and is highly skilled at finagling open locks and liberating small items from pockets. Those same fingers also make him a talented flute player. And as everyone in a halfling caravan has a niche to fill, Vir found he was a natural at finding herbs for the caravan's cooking, medicinal and druidic purposes.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
o Vir is very agile and quick, capable of various stunts such as wall jumps and evasive back flips.
o Locks are no obstacle to Vir (provided he has his lockpicks).
o More than just for show, Vir's big ears are very keen and can pick up sounds (or conversations...) that a vast majority would miss.
o Vir is not the type to give up easily.
o Vir's fox form has many practical uses; two of the most common being tracking and hiding.
x Though very swift in combat, Vir depends on his agility to dodge blows and land precise strikes. Being pinned, grappled or otherwise made immobile puts him at a serious disadvantage.
x Vir's big ears also make him vulnerable to loud noise.
x Tickling a kitsune renders them unable to use any magic for several minutes, and Vir is no exception.
x Kitsune are feyfolk, so Vir is badly injured by simply coming into contact with cold iron (cold-forged iron; not iron that's simply cold).
