Welcome to Cadrial-Tieien, a land of magic, adventure, and a place where the citizens aren't always as they appear to be.. Come join us and explore the world and decide whether you want to be on the side of good, evil or maybe somewhere in the middle. Help us shape the world of Cadrial-Tiein, where the only limit is your imagination.
Cadrial-Tiein is an Intermediate - Advanced Medieval/Fantasy RPG. Due to violence and explicit situations, we are not accepting any players younger than 18 years of age. The setting is in the fantasy country of Cadrial-Tiein and it's surrounding neighboring countries. Medieval means no modern type characters, fantasy means we're a little more lenient as to the races of characters. If you're interested in joining - be sure to use our bio format and be as descriptive as possible!

RULES
The rules exist to help the further enjoyment of all players involved in the game. All these rules are based on common sense and some of them are pretty basic 'not to do's' which you may already have seen in other RPG's. This list is by no means complete and can be modified whenever the moderator(s) feel it's needed, according to the situations presented in game. Players who do not obey to one or more rules will receive a warning. The continual breaking of rules will result in immediate expulsion. Same goes for repeated but not consecutive rule breaking. If you cannot comply with this set of rules then you can't remain in the game.
If a mod pulls you up for rule breaking, you are not under any circumstances to harass them. Mods give up their free time to make this game better for everyone. They do NOT deserve to be hassled because you the player have not gotten your own way. Any harassment aimed at Mods will result in your immediate banning.
Remember though that the first rule of all is to simply HAVE FUN. Never forget it.
1 - No bashing, flaming, insulting or condescending remarks made towards the other players or the moderator(s). One warning will be issued before mandatory unsubscription. Please, remember this rule. Always respect your fellow players. If you have anything against another player, do NOT take it on-list. The moderator(s) can serve as mediator(s) if anything is amiss between two or more players, so please do not hesitate in asking for help if you are angry at something. Just don't take it to the list. This does not mean that you may abuse another player from this game off list because they are not doing what you want them to do in game-play. The Mods will not hesitate to ban people who get out of control.
2 - No advertisements, please. There are groups throughout the web that are made just for that purpose - use them. Do not send spam {Chain letters, FWDs, etc} through the mailing group. The mailing group is for game material only! Anyone guilty of breaking this rule will be placed on notice for exclusion from the game.
3 - If you’re going to be gone from the game for any amount of time please be sure to let us know. It’s only common sense to know that we will notice inactivity on your part. I know most of you may have more to do than sitting at your computer writing posts but please warn the moderator(s) if you can't possible post for any extended period of time (vacations for example).
4 - Characters are subject to moderator approval and should follow the general character guidelines. If you're having trouble creating characters, or giving depth to them, contact a moderator.
5 - If you plan to bring in a character you play in another game, don't. You can use the same basic character concept (i.e. celeb, appearance, personality) but the history has to be completely new. We've had problems with people being able to keep games seperate and we'd rather not have to deal with this issue.
6 - No player is allowed to register more than two (2) characters within the game, unless otherwise given permission by the owner. This is insure that no characters are abandoned/left with other characters for extended amounts of time. i.e. actions of one character are more interesting than the other so you decide to ignore them until something happens.
7 - Character Revival is allowed, but once again must be Role Played accordingly and must be doen by one with the skill. Not every character that submits Ressurection as an ability will have it, and no character will start the game knowing all of their skills.
8 - The moderator(s) of the game has/have the final say on characters, situations and other aspects of the game. Disrespect will NOT be tolerated. Any complaints, criticisms and such will be taken OFF list. Suggestions and inquiries can be addressed through private email OFF the list. If a player cannot comply with the moderator(s) final word in a situation the player will be unsubscribed.
9 - The moderators of CT do not want to be bothered with complaints about your characters not getting their own way. CT is a game. Completely fictional. Sometimes, your character won't get what you wanted, and other characters may not react to your character the way you wanted. In CT, some characters might be mean to your characters for no good reason. Again, we remind you that it is a game. Some characters are just plain nasty, and it doesn't mean their players are like that as well. It's not a personal attack against you, it's just the way the game plays out. If you can't deal with that, then don't play, because you won't be able to handle the game like that. Any complaints directed at a mod of this manner, will result in a warning. If you re-offend, you will be asked to leave the game.
10 - SLs that could dramatically change the course of the game should first be presented to the moderator(s) for approval. Deaths of other characters, through battle or plot do not have to be presented to the group, but must be played out realistically. There will be no one-hit deaths unless the situaton allotted would truly allow for such.
11 - Please note that if you leave the group for any reason, your characters will remain here until we are able to write them out of the storylines they are currently attached to.
12 - The game is generally rated R for in-scene language and adult situations, but please keep it tactful. Also, be aware of the general tone of the game. We are an adult game, and we do deal with some darker subject matters, however, we ask that you be sensitive to other players and be sure that violence and explicit situations are a part of character development through RP rather than incidental, gratuitous, and continuous (this means no repeated overabundance of sexual situations).
STYLE
Posts should be written in third person, past tense. Think of a novel. Writing in such a style for this game is basically a novel written by many people, each one adding a part of the chapter. For example, if the player writes such as this: 'I was walking down the street and I stop to look at the store…', then the player is using first person. Just the same as if you were to say: "I walk towards the shop. I stop and go in." This is using both first person, and present tense. That is not acceptable. Neither is writing in third person present tense: "She walks towards the shop. She stops to look at the store." The proper way of writing would be: 'She was walking down the street and stopped to look at the store.' Third person, and past tense. Such is the style your post should have.
Every post should have a single space separating paragraphs and dialogues from different characters, which means, always hit 'enter' once when changing paragraphs. It will make the reading a lot easier than having to read everything non-stop. This also means, be careful with the commas and other punctuation. But I hardly need to refer that.
Also, when writing a post, make sure you check your grammar. It makes it easier for the player to read the posts and you can find a grammar checkers around, some even in your e-mail server. Occasional grammatical mistakes cannot be avoided, of course, but one thing is to have a misspelled word in a post, the other is have a post of misspelled words.
You are required to at least post twice a week. I understand that you don't eat and breathe Internet everyday and you will be occupied with other things but try to post at least twice a week to keep the story moving. If by any chance you are incapable of following the minimum frequency for any reason, warn the moderator(s). In this case, the other player(s) with whom you are interacting can choose to move forward.
-ON POSTING-
1 - You may not control another player's character unless you have permission to do so by the other player.
2 - No one-liners allowed. You are required to post at least three (3) paragraphs each time you post. Remember, you can never have too much detail in your writing!
3 - Your character is not a psychic on some hotline and can NOT read other characters minds. Be careful when responding, because when you use your 'psychic abilities' when you post, people become annoyed, and then often don't feel like giving you a very descriptive response.
4 - Your character is not Multiple Man/Woman, and can not be in two places at once. If you want to post with someone else, finish the thread you’re in before jumping into another scene.
